Buying scalped concert tickets at a premium is nothing new in the world of live music, but it has definitely taken a turn for the extreme over the past year. After shutdowns forced tour cancellations and rescheduled dates, the demand for concert tickets have been high, and resale prices even higher. Fans have been begging for better systems of ticket distribution, and that’s exactly what we’re getting with the newly-added Paramore Los Angeles shows in October.
The addition of two Los Angeles shows to the band’s 2022 Fall tour were announced this morning, which had been teased on Paramore’s website, where they have been listing dates along with coded phrases that fans have been trying to decipher. The clue beside 9.12 was “LA.”
The Los Angeles Paramore dates will be sold by request basis only. Once tickets are purchased, they will be non-transferable, and won’t be eligible to resell for profit. This is an attempt to help fans get tickets at face value, and disarm scalpers.
How to Get Paramore Los Angeles Concert Tickets
- Between now and September 14th, head to the Paramore Ticket Request Program page and select which date you’d like to attend.
- Choose your ticket quantity (the maximum allowed is two) and your preferred section, if applicable.
- You will then be directed to enter your payment information and complete your request.
- After the registration period closes, you’ll receive an email if your ticket request was confirmed. If confirmed, your card will automatically be charged.
Because of this system, it’s important that you only select the tickets and shows you are 100% willing to be charged for.
While mobile tickets are typically transferable, making it easy for people to sell on third-party sites for a profit, these tickets will be treated differently as part of Paramore’s effort to keep fans from overpaying. Tickets will be restricted from transferring to another Ticketmaster account, and all guests will be required to enter together with the original ticket purchaser.
If you’re unable to attend after being charged, resales will be permitted only through Ticketmaster’s Fan-to-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange. This will allow fans to sell and buy tickets from each other at the original price, including all taxes and fees. There are no additional fees for buying or selling through the Exchange.
Additionally, a portion of ticket sales from both Los Angeles shows will be donated to Support + Feed, an organization working to fight food insecurity and climate crisis.
Paramore used Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan presale system for the rest of their tour dates, which still leaves room for reselling at a profit.
The next clue on Paramore’s website is dated 9.19 with the phrase “start spreading the news.” Many fans speculate this to mean New York dates will be added. Previous clues “blank” and “wr0ng” didn’t seem to align with any announcements, while “discord” next to the date 9.1 announced the launch of the official Paramore Discord Server on September 1st.
